Real-time HAI Tracking Service
Cardinal Health developed the
MedMined Data Mining Surveillance Service to automatically identify patterns indicative of specific and correctable quality breakdowns, such as hospital-acquired infections. The new MRSA Scorecard provides a hospital wide view of the highly contagious, methicillin-resistant bacteria and distinguishes between patients who likely acquired the infection in the hospital and those who had an MRSA infection present on admission. The
MedMined Antimicrobial Management Service helps clinicians to identify patients that may be in need of therapy optimization early in the course of infection. The service is also designed for start-to-finish implementation in less than 60 days.

Customized Message Feature
The American TeleCare Provider/Patient Home Telehealth System from American TeleCare Inc. (ATI) now
offers providers that use ATI’s LifeView Provider Station the ability to post customized messages and reminders that patients see on the screens of the Patient Stations when they sign on at home. The new feature, called Quick Notes, can be used to remind patients of upcoming visits, to follow up on or clarify self-care instructions or to send
messages of encouragement and support. Provider Stations are used by clinicians and care teams to review patients’ vitals and other clinical data and to connect over standard telephone lines to any number of Patient Stations for
televisits. Patient Stations are compact, easy-to-use monitors that gather information from questions that patients answer and objective clinical data from integrated FDA approved medical peripherals. The Quick Notes feature represents a bidirectional channel between care giver and patient, adding increased value to ATI’s telehealth solutions for bridging the gaps of time and distance.

Care Management Software Update
McKesson has updated its CareEnhance Clinical Management Software suite (CCMS) with version 4.0 that expands remote care coordination capabilities for care managers and health plan nurses working in the field on tablet PCs or laptops. The new version also features improved data recovery functions to prevent data loss in the event of an interruption during the automatic synchronization process. Plan providers can populate databases with data for all plan members or for only those members assigned to the database user. The latter option restricts care managers to taking only their assigned cases to hospitals for discharge planning. Version 4.0 automatically synchronizes data once the field nurse or care manager connects to the core CCMS system.
